The HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array 6000 (EVA6000), used in a mid/high-level application environment, offers five different models: EVA6000 2C4D, EVA6000 2C5D, EVA6000 2C6D, EVA6000 2C7D, and EVA6000 2C8D. All EVA 6000 models exhibit dual ported 2/4 GB/s FC-AL drive interfaces, redundant controllers with 4GB cache per controller, four 4GB/s FC host ports, and support Vraid0, Vraid1, Vraid5, and Cross Vraid Snaps. The main difference between models is number of drive enclosures/disk capacity (each drive enclosure can run a maximum of 14 drives): The EVA6000 2C4D has four drive enclosures and runs a maximum of 56 drives; the EVA6000 2C5D has five drive enclosures and runs a maximum of 70 drives; the EVA6000 2C6D has six drive enclosures and runs a maximum of 84 drives; the EVA6000 2C7D has seven drive enclosures runs a maximum of 98 drives; and the EVA6000 2C8D has eight drive enclosures runs a maximum of 112 drives. The EVA6000 supports 72 GB, 146 GB, and 300 GB 10K and 15K rpm dual-ported 2 GB FC disk drives as well as 250 GB, 400 GB, and 500 GB dual ported 2 GB Fibre Attached Technology Adapted (FATA) disk. An EVA 6000 supports a wide array of operating system platforms including HP-UX, HP Tru64 UNIX, HP OpenVMS, Windows 2000 (Advanced Server), Windows Server 2003 (Enterprise Edition), Sun Solaris, Linux, Novell NetWare, VMware and IBM AIX.
