The IBM DS4300 storage array, formerly the FastT600, features 2GB Fiber channel technology, to provide a midrange disk array that can hold up to 14 internal disk drive modules. The DS4300 is available in two models. The 6LU, which features single 2Gbps connection, upgradeable to dual, with 256MB cache, upgradeable to 512MB with the second controller. The Model 60U features dual 2Gbps controllers. This model is available with 512MB cache (256MB per controller) and (when the Turbo feature is included) 2GB cache (1GB per controller). The When using the internal fiber channel drives, the DS4300 can provide up to 4TB of storage capacity. The DS4300, with proper authorizations, can attach to up to 3 EXP810/EXP710 expansion units with up to 18TB of fiber channel storage. With the optional Turbo feature, the DS4300 has authorization to attach up to six EXP810/710 or seven EXP710/700 expansion units. This facilitates the use of up to 112 drives, providing up to 33TB of storage. DS4300s with EXP810 expansion units can also use 500GB SATA drives, in addition to 300GB FC drives used in the DS4300 itself, to provide up to 52TB of total storage.
