The IBM P6 Model 550 server can be configured with up to four dual-core processor cards, resulting in a 2-way, 4-way, 6-way, or 8-way server. Available processors speeds are 3.5GHz and 4.2Ghz. The P6 Model 550 can hold from 1 to 256GB of memory. Maximum memory is only available with the 8-way configuration. The P6 550 can hold up to 2700GB of internal DASD (when configured with 6) 3.5” bays) or 1174GB when configured with 8) 2.5” bays). The system also features 5 I/O slots and features both 1GB and 10GB Ethernet options.
