The IBM DS4700 storage array comes in two models, the 1814-70A and 1814-72A. The 1814 Model 70A includes 2GB cache (1GB per controller), 4) Fibre channel host ports and 4) 4GBPS expansion ports. The 1814 Model 72A includes 4GB cache (2GB per controller), 8) Fibre channel 4GB per second host ports and 4) 4GB per second disk expansion ports. Either array can house up to 16 internal drives. The total internal capacity of either system is 4.8TB using 300GB Fiber channel drives and up to 12TB using 750GB SATA drives. Both the 8141-70A and the 1814-72A can be connected to up to six DS4000 storage expansion units.
